MINO GATTI SCULTURE POLICROME IN CARTARUGA - POLYCROME PAPIER-mâché SCULPTURES

Aria di Scultura
(A Sculptural Jorney)

Osvaldo Patani

Mino Gatti is an indipendent

artist to his fingertips, one who goes his own way and is content to wait until the time is rigth for his sculpture.

His inventive technique mixes art and craftwork, producing fascinating works paintstakingly created from papier-mâché.

His originality starts where possibility normally ends:

his creations are like no others, nor did it occur to anyone else to create them...

Divinità
silenziose
(Silent divinities)

The works of Mino Gatti have this ability to plunge us into a fantastic dreamworld, a world of memories of the young artist growing up in the hills and valley around Piacenza, and where, inspired by his classical studies, he would let his imagination soar on the wings of Pascoli's hippogryph towards the legendary valley of Eden: this is a fertile land where Gatti senses, in the still silence of the summer heat, the stately, stationary figures of the divinities who guard the rivers...
